The challenge
Datamag, a European startup building the first dedicated e-commerce analytics platform in Eastern Europe, needed to sync and process marketplace order data at a scale its existing backend could not sustain: tens of thousands of orders per sync, against APIs that paginate and rate-limit, for users who would not wait on the page.
What we did
Built a resilient import system that processes more than 30,000 order records in a single sync while handling pagination and API rate limits. Long-running jobs were moved to background workers on AWS Lambda and SQS so imports continue after the user navigates away or logs out. Supabase provided structured, fast PostgreSQL for the processed data, with Next.js and Node.js on the application side.
The outcome
Sellers can trigger large syncs and keep working; the pipeline finishes in the background and the data lands in a store built for the reporting on top of it.
