LawHQ eSignature Platform
Lead developer on a two-year build of a DocuSign-class signing platform for LawHQ.com, a US technology law firm. Led three junior developers. Built a WYSIWYG document editor from scratch, plus hash-based document signing and verification, customisable themes, activity logging, contacts, groups and notifications. Delivered from tech-stack research through MVP to an API-first product.

The challenge
LawHQ, a US technology law firm, needed its own eSignature platform rather than a DocuSign licence: attorney-client agreements had to be signed inside the LawHQ app, and later any user had to be able to upload documents and send them for signature. The roadmap ran from tech-stack research through an MVP to an API-first product, with legal-grade evidence of who signed what and when.
What we did
As lead developer over roughly two years, leading three junior developers, I built the platform on Vue.js and Laravel. That included a WYSIWYG document editor written from scratch, field placement and recipient routing with signing order, draw, type and upload signature capture, and hash-based document signing and verification so any later change to a file breaks validation. Around it: templates, contacts, groups, notifications, customisable themes and a per-event activity log. Later phases moved to API-first development so partner applications could sign without touching the UI.
The outcome
The platform reached its initial release and went into production at app.lawhq.com. It remains the longest engagement on our record: 3,153 hours and $157,650 across the contract, rated 5.0 by the client.

What was built
WYSIWYG document editor
Built from scratch: formatting, fields, images, tables and code view, with signing fields placed directly on the document.
Hash-based signing and verification
Each signed document carries a hash; verification recomputes it, so any alteration after signing is detectable.
Recipients and signing order
Multiple signers with typed roles, optional sequential order, and collaboration mode.
Signature capture
Draw, type or upload a signature, with the signer name recorded against the field.
Activity and workflow history
Every open, download, field change and signature is logged with date, user and detail for compliance review.
Templates, contacts, groups
Reusable document templates and address-book style management of signers and groups, plus notifications.
